At St Nicholas, music is at the heart of our worship, helping us to praise God, reflect on His love, and encounter His presence. Whether you love the timeless beauty of traditional hymns, the richness of Anglican choral music, or the energy of more contemporary worship songs, you'll find something to inspire you here.
Our musical tradition is wonderfully diverse. Throughout the month we celebrate worship with everything from majestic choral settings, sung by our talented choir, to familiar hymns that have been loved for generations, alongside modern worship music that speaks to today's Church. We believe that music has the power to draw people together, and our aim is to offer a style of worship where everyone can feel at home.
Our choir plays a central role in the life of St Nicholas, leading worship at our Parish Communion, Choral Matins, and Choral Evensong. We are delighted that our choir is led by our Director of Music, Luke Green, who brings with him a wonderful breadth of musical skill, experience, and a calm, nurturing nature. Luke is passionate about encouraging and developing musicians of all ages and abilities, helping our music ministry to flourish while leading worship with excellence and sensitivity. We are proud of our strong choral tradition and warmly welcome new singers who would like to explore this rewarding ministry.
Alongside our choir, our worship embraces a variety of musical styles, ensuring that every generation can connect with God through song. Whether accompanied by our historic organ, piano, or other instruments, our music reflects both the richness of our Anglican heritage and the vibrancy of the Church today.

Our Robed Choir is at the heart of the musical life of St Nicholas Church, leading worship with a rich choral tradition that enhances our services throughout the year.
The choir sings at two Parish Communion services each month, as well as monthly Choral Matins and Choral Evensong. They also provide music for many of our special services and festivals, and regularly sing at weddings and funerals, bringing comfort, beauty and dignity to these important occasions.
New members are always welcome, whether you are an experienced chorister or looking to return to singing after a break. If you enjoy making music, growing in faith, and being part of a friendly and supportive community, we'd love to hear from you.
