How Your Giving Helps Your Church

At St Nicholas’ Church, we are deeply thankful for every gift that is given. Whether large or small, regular or occasional, every donation is an act of generosity that helps sustain and grow the life of our church. Quite simply — we cannot do this without you.

Giving is an important part of our faith. In the Bible, we are reminded that all we have comes from God, and that giving is a joyful response to His generosity:

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give… for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

Your giving enables so much of what happens here:

  • Worship services and prayer

  • Work with children and young people

  • Supporting those in need in our community

  • Maintaining our church building as a place of welcome

  • Outreach, mission, and sharing the good news of Jesus

We want to be good stewards of every gift we receive. That means using money wisely, transparently, and prayerfully — so that it makes a real difference in people’s lives.

There are several ways you can give:

  • Regular giving (the most helpful way for us to plan)

  • Direct Debit or standing order

  • One-off donations

  • Gift Aid (which increases your donation at no extra cost to you)

  • Leaving a gift in your will

Regular, planned giving — especially through Direct Debit — is the most effective and sustainable way to support the church’s work. It helps us look ahead with confidence and continue building a culture of generosity together.

We ask you to consider the following (if you aren’t already):

• Are you giving regularly and in a planned, tax-efficient way?

• Will you commit to giving by Direct Debit, making sure Gift Aid is claimed, where applicable?

• Will you consider leaving a financial gift to St Nicholas’ Church in your will?

• Will you make a response to this information campaign, even if it is a ‘no’?

We are seeking to grow not just our resources, but our shared commitment to God’s work here. This is about all of us — playing our part, prayerfully and faithfully.

We invite you to join us in this task.
