The Church has a range of groups and activities for children and adults. If you are interested in any of those listed below, please do not hesitate to contact them.
HOME GROUPS: If you would like to be part of a house group for Bible study and discussion please have a word with the Rector Alan Mustoe (020 8467 4405).
CRECHE: Children from 0-3 years gather in the Committee Room in the Village/Church Hall during Sunday School. This is sometimes the first contact new parents have with the Church so it plays a vital role. It begins with a simple act of worship and there is a rota of parents involved in helping. GATEWAY SUNDAY SCHOOL: Sunday School takes place in the Village/Church Hall throughout the year with breaks at Easter and Christmas during the 09:30 service. It closes during the school summer holidays when the children are cared for by volunteers. Contact: Madeline Clarke (020 8467 2206).
ST NICHOLAS TODDLER GROUP: Every Thursday during term time (except 2nd Thursday in month) from 1:30 to 3:00 in the Village/Church hall. Large play equipment, parachute games, bouncy castles and crafts for pre-schoolers aged from 10 months to 4 and a half years. There is a small entrance fee that includes refreshments. CHISLEHURST PARENTS' GROUP (CPG): Alternate Wednesdays during term time from 1:45 to 3:00 in the Village/Church hall. Parents/carers with children up to 5 years are welcome. There is a varied programme for each session which will provide the children with new activities and experiences. There is a small entrance fee that includes refreshments. URBAN SAINTS: Every other Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Village/Church hall for young people aged 11-16 years. Contact Ruth Cox (O1689 880237), John Grant (020 8289 9210) or Pippa Jinks (020 8295 1475).
CHLOE: (Chislehurst Ladies Over Eighteen): Just as it suggests, a group for ladies over eighteen with a varied programme of monthly meetings.
MOTHERS' UNION: A variety of meetings and activities at different times and venues plus annual outings to places of interest. Contact: Margaret Brown 020 8467 8890 or Margaret Stephenson 020 8460 8809.
WEDNESDAY CIRCLE: Second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:45 for 11:00 at Prince George Duke of Kent Court, Shepherds Green, Chislehurst, BR7 6PA. Informative talks, often with slides and/or music. Contact: Shirley Strong 020 8467.
KNITTING CLUB: Every Tuesday 10:30 to 12:00 at the Bulls' Head Hotel (Lounge). Contact: Carole Peet (020 8467 1525).
CHURCH CHOIR: The choir sings at the 09:30am Parish Eucharist each Sunday, except for the 3rd Sunday when they sing at Choral Matins at 11:15am. On the 1st Sunday of each month Choral Evensong is at 6:00pm. Choir practice takes place every Friday from 7:30-9:00pm. Contact Michael Bell on (020 8295 1811).
BELL RINGING: Learning to ring takes 6-12 months of weekly 1 hour sessions. One to one tuition is provided by experienced ringing tutors. Once the basics of bell handling are mastered there is a weekly practice. Once competent at ringing with others, you would join the Sunday ringing band. There would also be the opportunity to ring for weddings for which you would receive a small payment. Contact Peter Skinner on (01322 660716).
